Stockholm Fringe Festival (STOFF) is a six-day multidisciplinary arts festival, acting as a ‘stage’ for local and international artists to present their innovative work ranging from performance to installation art and anything in between. The festival stands for artistic freedom and focuses on out-of-the-box and “alternative” works that may not fit into mainstream performance or exhibition spaces. STOFF is a chance for arts practitioners to test new ideas, network and collaborate with other artists, develop work, and get inspired by many different creative expressions.

Not only is STOFF about encouraging emerging artists who are developing their craft but also welcomes established groups and individuals whose work promotes innovative work practices. The festival wishes to bridge the gap between the established and the emerging through international guest appearances.

Arena STOFF - Born in the midst of the pandemic, Arena Stoff is the new all-year-round IRL and digital fringe stage produced by the House of Producers, aka the team behind Stockholm Fringe Festival.

In 2021 Arena Stoff had a soft launch via the www.stockholmfringe.com with a digital conference about the future of digital performing spaces and the fringe art that will lead to new genres being discovered.  You can see all the recorded panel talks via the Arena Stoff tab.

During the World Fringe Congress & The Swedish Stage Art Biennale in 2022, we introduced the first stage of www.arenastoff.com, a digital culture house in development! Think of virtual rehearsing spaces and a laboratory. Imagine a lobby where your "Meta-style-avatar" meets other fringe art fans who join in from all corners of the world.

We encourage every one register and share their opinion about what Arena Stoff can and should be in the future. After seed funding from the Swedish Arts Council. the project is now in line to be further developed with funding from Kulturbryggan. Make your voice hear and affect the future of digital theatre.

Festival dates 2023:

29th August - 3rd September

Festival Co-founders: Helena Bunker, Lina Karlmark & Adam J.K. Potrykus.

The festival is made possible with funding from the Swedish Arts Council, and the City and the Region of Stockholm. Our full partner list is revealed at the end of July when the full program is launched!
